Happy Mother's Day!

It has been a GREAT Weekend! John surprised me with a weekend trip to Monterey for my 1st Mother's Day and our 2nd Anniversary! Pictures to come...

IN the mean time, some of the dads and kids from our church recorded sweet messages to their wifes/mom's to wish them a Happy Mother's Day and play during the service.

Here is the full message from my sweet hubby:

Three Years Ago Today...

I said yes to the man of my dreams, I said yes to our future, I said yes to starting a life together, I said YES to love!

After talking with Monica’s father, a trip was arranged in March to surprise Monica for her birthday. Little did Monica know that John had another surprise up his sleeve. They talked back and forth over the next couple of months, and once March arrived, the questions came. “What did you get me for my birthday?” “Oh, I’m mailing it to you.” Monica still didn’t have an idea of what was in store for her. John flew in to California and met Monica’s mom at the restaurant. Her dad brought her in, blindfolded, and sat her down. After the blindfold was taken off, Monica was quite surprised to see John sitting next to her. She had been through such a stressful week, and managed a relieved ‘Hi’ as she rested her head in John’s shoulder. At this point Monica knew what might be happening, and as the butterflies mounted, she wondered if she would make a good wife. John had no idea about her worries and was floating along, that is, until he spoke to Monica’s dad. “I think you two should communicate more,” was the answer John received. It wasn’t necessarily a rejection, but it was definitely a coded message. However, after an off weekend, John and Monica seemed to be right back where they were before. John knew he wanted to marry Monica, and with one last push of courage, he asked her dad again. “My answer’s always been yes, it’s these crazy women!” John was excited. It seemed that Monica, too, was more upbeat than usual. John didn’t know, but Monica had confided in her dad her worries, and he told her to pray. John had picked out a place in old town Sacramento to propose, but all during that day, he just couldn’t find the right place. He and Monica ventured into a candy store where John purchased some candy that he knew Monica did not like. It was starting to rain, so they went back to their car, where John politely asked if Monica wanted a piece of candy. “No, thanks.” “You sure?” “I’m sure.” “Well, do you want a piece?” “No, I don’t.” “Just look in the bag!” Monica looked inside and just looked up at John. He proceeded to tell her of his love for her and asked for her hand in marriage. She said yes.

Just for Kicks...

So my sister asked me the other day "what are you excited about the most"...

And all I can think about is wanting to see her sweet face! I don't even have the slightest idea of who she's going to look like. I can't even make an educated guess.

I mean come on, I JUST finally accepted the fact that I was pregnant and going to have a baby! (Yes it's took me this long)!

So just for kicks... cause that's ALL she's been doing today:
Who do you think miss Georgia will look like? Take the poll to the Right hand side!

And just to help you make a decision, here is a fun site that I found!

"Georgia" as a baby:

"Georgia" as a toddler:

And "just for Kicks", our brangelina child:

I have to say we make pretty cute kids no matter what the race!

less than 2 days till miss Georgia makes her appearance!

40 Week Appointment

Well today is miss Georgia's due date and she still seems happy as can be in her mommies tummy!

Here are the stats:
Dilated: 2cm
Effacement: 80%
Station - 1
Blood Pressure: A little high
Sugars and Protein: N/A

So my membranes have officially been stripped THREE times in the last week... YUCK! And still no progress. So if Georgia doesn't come in the next few days... Friday (yes the 13th) we go in at 6am (don't they know I sleep in!) to be induced. YIKES!

Normally this wouldn't faze me but I'm a little scared as far was G's size goes. She's measuring on the big side and because this is my first baby my Dr says I have an uncertain pelvis, meaning she doesn't know how it will react to a big baby.

So here are the probabilities:
We go in get induced and she's born just fine!
Induced and her head is delivered but could have shoulder dysplasia (Not good).
Induced and labor doesn't progress and we go in for a C-Section.

So needless to say I'm a little nervous! It's nice to know now the "day" that she'll be here, but it's also a little scary not knowing how and what the delivery hold for both her and myself.

I know God has it under control but because she is so big there leave a lot of uncertainty of how things might go.

We'll bring the computer in hopes to keep the blog updated but can't promise anything!

We would greatly appreciate any prayers that John and I have peace during the whole induction and that both Georgia and I will continue to stay healthy and safe during the labor and delivery.

Thanks so much! We can't wait to share her with everyone!

Due Date Dilema...

Here it is... the most counted down and awaited day. I mean SECOND to my wedding of course!

But seriously, there is something about a due date... it's not for certain, it's just a rough date that you get to look forward to... or in my case, look past! Your wedding if for certain, it will happen on that set date, there is no waiting game!

I can honestly say this has been a FANTASTIC pregnancy, NO complaints! And even the whole "last month dread" hasn't been bad on bit. No morning sickness, no cramping, no cravings (until lately), no horrific weight gain, no problems at all. It's been perfect! Now lets hope the same for the delivery!

I've enjoyed my time off work getting the house ready and Georgia's room all together these past few weeks. It has been a time for me to really let everything sink in and prepare for becoming a mom.

And somehow just in the last 24 hours I've gone from... "wow, we're pregnant and going to have a kid!" to "I'm ready to hold my daughter". I think she's been waiting for ME to get ready.

So to my sweet daughter,

I'm ready whenever you are... well sort of! But I know the moment that you are in my arms is the moment that I was meant to become a mom. I'm so excited to meet you and see your sweet face! I can't describe the feelings that I go through on a daily basis, because even I can't explain them! But your dad and I are ready and we can't wait to hold you and call you daughter!

We love you sweet little girl!

*Update*
I have a Dr's appt today and will update with what's next!

Miss Georgia is one BIG peach!

So today I had my follow up ultra sound to the Dr's appt. where she measured me 4 weeks larger...

Well Drum roll please.....

She's measuring in at 38.5 weeks (I'm 36 weeks yesterday)
She's approx. 8.5 pounds (books say 5.5-6 pounds)
They put her as being due 1/25/09 (She's not due till 2/10/09!)
She TOTALLY has John's nose!
She has chubby chipmunk cheeks
and likes to have her hands up by her face!

This appt. was originally supposed to be 30-45 minutes... it took 2 hours! The techs were great and talked through each thing they were looking at and measuring (way better than my 20 week ultra sound)! One of the techs in the room was still learning so it was kind of cool to hear the terminology and then have them "speak English" and understand what it all meant.

Luckily I have a Dr. appt tomorrow and we'll be able to go through all of this and figure out what's next... I'll keep you all posted!

Deciphering License Plates

So John and I have enabled with this new talent... Deciphering License Plates.

The other day on our way home we pulled up to a car with Georgia Plates!

Wow, what are the odds of that? Besides that that IS a state... but come on, all the way out here in Cali?!

Now I don't know if this is legal... but the plate number was: AZG 716

I automatically was like, look it's a sign that Georgia will be born at 7:16!

Then we went off the deep end... I was breaking down the letters by what number letter it was in the alphabet.

So here is what John and I came up with:
A - 1
Z - 26
G - 7
7 - 7 hours
16 - 16 minutes

Put that all together...
1/26 G for Gorgeous Georgia at 7:16am

I know it's really far fetched but I even calculated how far along I would be on Jan. 26... exactly 38 weeks, which is full term.

Now we'll just have to wait and see...

Reality Check Please!

I'm 32 weeks this week and it is actually starting to settle in that I'm going to be a mom soon!

My mind just hasn't fully grasped that concept and I don't imagine it feeling like reality till after Georgia has made her appearance, or even quite some time after then.

I'm blessed to have such wonderful parents, in-laws and friends that all love and support John and I.

This is a HUGE change in our life and I'm so glad that we get to share it with each and every one of them.

Here's to another 8 +/- weeks...

Labor and Delivery

Oh yes, what a fun way to end your Monday at work...

All Sunday night my stomach was hurting, sore, achy, normal pregnancy stuff.

This morning I woke up and could barely stand. The day progressed and my stomach was in a constant state of pain. It hurt to stand, sit.. move.

I ignored it for as long as I could until it started to move to my back.

I then called my OB and talked to the receptionist and she said it sounded like I should go to L&D. John and I talked and decided we would wait till after work and also wait to hear back from my Dr.

At 3:30 I called back and talked to Dr. Yost's assistant who said the same thing but also said she would check in with the on call Dr.

I got the call a little before 4 to head over to L&D to get checked out.

My dad was so cute and nervous driving John and I there. I felt so bad because I knew Georgia was fine, she'd been moving around all day. But this pain I was feeling was not what I had been used to.

My mom called as we were pulling in parking lot and said that she wanted to be there.

John and I had walked on a total of 3 WRONG floors until we were finally at the right spot... my dad who parked the car and was going to meet us there... beat us there!

We checked in, filled out paper work... talked to a really sweet security guy who was talking about God and his faith and said that he would pray that our little girl would stay in a little longer. How awesome huh?! I want him to be there when I deliver!

My nurse was really sweet, she got me all set up and checked for proteins, my blood pressure and put on the monitor to see how our baby was doing.

Her heart rate was 140 and she was moving around like no other! I don't think I've ever felt her so much. And every time she moved it would have a noise on the monitor as if she was brushing up against it.

Our nurse said it looked like I may have had a few small contractions but over all was not in labor. Good news right?! EXCEPT for the fact that I was experiencing the worst pain in my stomach about ever 2 minutes. But it's not labor.. so that is good news.

She said we have a very happy and healthy baby growing, which was also encouraging.

I'm taking it easy tonight and going to let John spoil me!

I'll most likely go back in tomorrow and get checked out by my Dr. and see if there is anything we need to address.

So for right now I could use prayer for comfort and continued health for both Georgia and I.

I'll keep everyone posted about tomorrow as things progress.

6 Month Baby Belly...

She's getting BIGGER!

It's so amazing how much she is growing just in a matter of months... weeks... hecks even days!

Georgia is most certainly a snuggler! I can feel her burrow into place and get all comfy and then just rest for a few hours.

I've been noticing that she favors my left side, and I'm starting to see that side of my belly is usually a little bigger than the other!

I feel every little movement that she makes now and so does John! The other day I was laying on the couch watching one of my shows and I felt her moving along and decided to take a closer look.... My belly is now bouncing with each move that she makes! John just cracks up that you can actually SEE her move.

I've been trying to get my mom to feel her move, and every time she's around we talk to her and rub the belly but NOTHING! So late one night after we went grocery shopping I laid down on her couch to see if she would move.. and sure enough grandma gigi got a couple of good kicks! Yay! Finally!

I keep trying to get a video of her moving... but maybe it might be a little easier next month!

Only 3 more months to go! Yikes!

Going to Miami...

Well not really, but we'll be in the same state! Thats right, we're going to Flordia for a vacation... probably the last one for awhile!

The last time we were really on a vacation was our honeymoon over a year ago. It's been quite a year... needless to say and it will be great to be able to get away from work and house stuff and just relax and be... on the beaches of
Captiva Island!

We'll post lots of pictures as soon as we get back!

And for entertainment purposes... because when I think of FL, I think of
THIS!

Baby G is a She!

"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; I know that full well." Psalm 139:14

I can't believe we are half way to meeting out little girl! John and I were both prepared for a little girl, but during the whole pregnancy we both thought boy. The one thing that kept thinking it could be a girl was ALL my dreams were girl and just this last weekend I had my first dream holding my daughter. I'm sure that was God's way of preparing my heart for this sweet little one.
I can't imagine it any other way and we're already so in love with her!

We are so blessed and touched that God would give this wonderful gift to us!
