Georgia's first Play Date!

So today my friend Ashley and I got together and got some much needed adult conversation in while our two little ones had a play date!

Both Ashley and I found out within days of each other that we were pregnant, we found out the same week what we were going to be having... and we also found out we have the EXACT same due date! What are the odds? It was fun having someone else in the same phase as you... we definitely compared the symptoms and kicks that we were having!

Logan was induced (just like Georgia) 2 weeks earlier than me because his sweet mommy had high blood pressure (another symptom that we had in common)!

It was exciting to get the text updates with her progression and then finally the picture of her sweet little boy!!! Yay, he'd finally made into the world!

Also today we found out the are on the same schedule... almost to a T! When I arrived at her place they BOTH had poopy diapers, then they both were hungry... then they both feel asleep! I swear these two were made for each other! :)

So here are some pictures and video's of Georgia and Logan on their first play date together:

The ol' smooth move!
(yawn & stretch to put your arm around the girl)

Close enough... But at least she's smiling at me!

Hey, nice pacifier!

So sweet holding hands!

And here are some video's of the little love birds chatting with each other!

Just for Kicks...

So my sister asked me the other day "what are you excited about the most"...

And all I can think about is wanting to see her sweet face! I don't even have the slightest idea of who she's going to look like. I can't even make an educated guess.

I mean come on, I JUST finally accepted the fact that I was pregnant and going to have a baby! (Yes it's took me this long)!

So just for kicks... cause that's ALL she's been doing today:
Who do you think miss Georgia will look like? Take the poll to the Right hand side!

And just to help you make a decision, here is a fun site that I found!

"Georgia" as a baby:

"Georgia" as a toddler:

And "just for Kicks", our brangelina child:

I have to say we make pretty cute kids no matter what the race!

less than 2 days till miss Georgia makes her appearance!

Go HERE to make your own babies!

NOT Mr. Ed!

Sorry in advance if you're offended... but I found this hilarious, especially because my mom is a second grade teacher and she's had a few funny things like this happen!

Happy Friday everyone!

*NO, this is not from my mom's class*

Craving Conversation!

Craving conversation hearts that is! It has to be one of my FAVORITE holiday candies. What's not to like about them? Their bite sized, they come in a little box, they heart shaped and the say cute little things! Now over the years they have modified the original conversation heart recipe. They have sour ones, chocolate ones, gross ones... and then the BEST ones, NECCO ones! They are by far the best flavors, texture and sayings! Only 18 days to go!

For some fun facts about conversation hearts go HERE!

But Seriously:
I've always been a fan on Valentines Day. Yes you should show the people around you EVERYDAY that you love them and not just on this one "commercialized" day.

But I think Valentines is more than that. It's a day to really bring you focus and remind the people around you just how much you love them.

It's not like we can buy flowers and chocolates or golf certificates or steak dinners every night. It's not like we can put reality and life on the back burner for the evening and just enjoy the love that we share every evening... or can we?

I think it is important to be able to share and express your love for the people around you on a daily basis, but I also think it's great that we have a day set aside each year that we can really celebrate it!

Miss Georgia is one BIG peach!

So today I had my follow up ultra sound to the Dr's appt. where she measured me 4 weeks larger...

Well Drum roll please.....

She's measuring in at 38.5 weeks (I'm 36 weeks yesterday)
She's approx. 8.5 pounds (books say 5.5-6 pounds)
They put her as being due 1/25/09 (She's not due till 2/10/09!)
She TOTALLY has John's nose!
She has chubby chipmunk cheeks
and likes to have her hands up by her face!

This appt. was originally supposed to be 30-45 minutes... it took 2 hours! The techs were great and talked through each thing they were looking at and measuring (way better than my 20 week ultra sound)! One of the techs in the room was still learning so it was kind of cool to hear the terminology and then have them "speak English" and understand what it all meant.

Luckily I have a Dr. appt tomorrow and we'll be able to go through all of this and figure out what's next... I'll keep you all posted!

Shrek Feet...

Oh yes, it has officially happened... I'm swelling!

Come on! I've gone so long and NOW right before I have all those "beautiful" labor pictures taken of me... Boo!

As of right now it's just my feet and legs. I can feel the fluid, it's kind of creepy. I'm just hoping it stays there and doesn't move up to my hands and face!

It's funny how often you DON'T look at you feet. On average I usually just see my toes peaking out from behind my jeans or sweat pants. But today my shoes were bothering me, so I pulled up a pant leg and was in shock! I seriously almost cried, not because I'm shallow like that, it was just so funny and very creepy at the same time that I actually had...Shrek Feet!

So what did I do when I got home?! Soak them? Elevate them? Have my sweet hubby rub them?

NOPE... Crazy me I sat on the floor most of the night building our stroller and then sitting on the legs that are swelling right before my eyes and go through all of Georgia's new gifts... which took 2 hours just to clear her floor so we could get in there!

I'm a crazy pregnant woman who doesn't know her limits... Someone stop me!

Deciphering License Plates

So John and I have enabled with this new talent... Deciphering License Plates.

The other day on our way home we pulled up to a car with Georgia Plates!

Wow, what are the odds of that? Besides that that IS a state... but come on, all the way out here in Cali?!

Now I don't know if this is legal... but the plate number was: AZG 716

I automatically was like, look it's a sign that Georgia will be born at 7:16!

Then we went off the deep end... I was breaking down the letters by what number letter it was in the alphabet.

So here is what John and I came up with:
A - 1
Z - 26
G - 7
7 - 7 hours
16 - 16 minutes

Put that all together...
1/26 G for Gorgeous Georgia at 7:16am

I know it's really far fetched but I even calculated how far along I would be on Jan. 26... exactly 38 weeks, which is full term.

Now we'll just have to wait and see...

Tweet Tweet!

Twittering from the womb: How soon is too soon to 'tweet'?

Get an update on every kick, drop and roll from inside the womb with a new device that can connect to the Internet.

A new pregnancy belt created by an NYU grad student and worn by his wife notifies him whenever their unborn baby kicks inside the womb.
Dad-to-be Corey Menscher, whose wife, Ellen, is eight months pregnant with the couple's first baby, wanted to (at least digitally) feel each and every kick their active little pre-born babe was making.

For a class project, the second year grad student invented what he dubbed the Kickbee.
The wearable device made of a stretchable band with embedded electronics and sensors isn't exactly a model of comfort.

Small Piezo sensors attached directly to the band transmit small but detectable voltages when they are triggered by movement underneath.

An Arduino Mini micro-controller wirelessly transmits the signals to an accompanying Java application via Bluetooth.

"I have a vibrating device in my pocket at all times," says Menscher. ""Every time the baby kicks, it uploads a message to the server and I get a text message on my phone as well."

He says he chose Twitter because not only is it easy to initiate an SMS message to any mobile phone, but it also acts as a data log.

Future versions of the Kickbee belt could update sites such as Facebook, too, Menscher notes.
Though the device isn't on the market, it's received an astonishing amount of attention here and in Europe (There's a press preview tomorrow at NYU.) "I built it for myself and I didn't know there would be such a reaction," marveled Menscher, who lives on the Upper West Side.

"It's also great for couples who are away from ech other a lot." Dan O'Sullivan, an NYU professor who teaches the course for which the Kickbee was made, says the pregnancy belt shouldn't just be construed as silly.

"If it keeps fathers hanging around more, and gets them more involved with their kids, it's a very good thing," he says.

"I would say that it's the earliest utterance of a fetus over the Internet." Menscher points out that the pregnancy belt has practical applications, too.

"Our doctor said it's important for us to be aware of the baby's movements because if they decrease it could be a sign of fetal distress," he says. By monitoring the activity, the system could warn parents if fetal movement suddenly stops.

The sensors that are used in the device are the same used in other medical devices that are considered safe, says Dr. Gayle Olson, an obstetrician specializing in maternal-fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancies at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

And fetal movement is commonly used as a measurement of the baby's well being, she says.
"This is kind of high-tech and fun way to be able to keep track of the fetal kick counts," Olson says. "And since it goes out on Twitter, you could send the information to whoever you would want to share it with, such as your doctor."

In the case of Menscher's precocious gymnast-to-be, who seems to do constant backflips, the Twitter posts are quite hilarious. Like this typical post: "Wow I'm being very active! I kicked Mommy 84 times at 3:44 AM."

Don't look for Kickbees in Babies R Us anytime soon. The sensors are a little touchy, and all expectant moms may not be as cooperative as Ellen Menscher, who plans to demo the Kickbee in front of her husband's class at NYU later this week. And what did he get as a grade in the course?

"I didn't find out yet," Menscher says. "I hope I got an A." The proud parents to be haven't created a Facebook account yet for their soon-to-arrive bundle of joy.

Though it wouldn't be out of line to wonder if Menscher might be training his child to start prenatal posting on Twitter.
