Prayers Are Welcome...

Tomorrow morning at 8:30am we are going to the perinatologist for the Ultrascreen (and a ultrasound - yay!). This screening test detects babies who are at a higher risk for having certain chromosomal abnormalities. Of course we will love this child unconditionally, but just like every parent, we want our baby to be completely healthy. Your prayers are the most precious gift and we appreciate every single one. I will post an update tomorrow!

Eleven Week Check-Up

Today we had out second month check up, which equals out for us to be 11 weeks. We were expecting to hear the heart beat, but Dr. Yost pulled in the ultrasound machine instead... hey I rather see my baby than hear it any day... I guess the same will be true after the baby is here!


It was so amazing to see just how much Baby G has grown in less than a month. It looked like a little gummy bear and was at least 10 times the size! (that is my opinion, not those of the Dr.s' or people who really know how big the baby is at 11 weeks.)

Two Month Baby Bump (8 weeks)

Here is the baby bump at 2 months... I feel more bloated but that is about the extent of feeling any different.

Our First Appointment & Ultrasound

Today, at 7.5 weeks along, we had our first ultrasound at Dr. Yost's office. Everything looked great and we could see baby g's little heart beating away at about 120-130 beats per minute. We are so thankful for a healthy little one and are praying for the next 33 weeks!

The big "globe" that looks like the head is actually the yolk sac, it's what feeds the baby till the placenta if fully formed. If you look carefully you can see the head and the "tail" between two tiny plus signs.

One Month Baby Bump (4 weeks)

A Newborn's Conversation with God...

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.''And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.''Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.''But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' Yeah okay... so I got totally teary eyed when I read this... sheesh, 8 more months of this!

Announcing Baby G...

The night we found out we were pregnant we called my parents to see what they were doing, as luck would have it my mom was out running errands... It was actually perfect because we were able to give John's parents a call and tell them the exciting news first!


Rick & Jo-Ann
We sent Jo-Ann an email with two pictures. We told her to get Rick because we wanted to show them our new "grill" (That was John's idea, not mine - just for the record!). We waited and waited for Rick to get to the computer. All the while John kept telling Jo-Ann to not look at the email till Dad was next to her. So while she was waiting she had some school emails that she needed to check... well the next thing we knew she was just screaming and so excited, John and I thought for sure she opened the email with our "grill" pictures!

Finally Rick came to the computer and John was setting them all up and had them open the first picture which was...

This is the bear that I gave John to tell him that we were pregnant!

Then Jo-Ann asked whats on it's arm? Which we then told her that the "grill" was the next picture...


Thinking she would be even MORE excited and surprised... she simply said Aww. Rick and Jo-Ann are both very happy and can't wait to meet Grand Baby #10!!! Yes that's right... #10

As soon as John and I got over the shock and didn't look like we had some horrible secret.. we packed up the infamous bear and headed over to my parents house to "drop off the drill". Man, we sure did lie a lot that night, but it was for a good cause!

When we first got to Mom and Dad, Mom was still out, so John and I just hung out and played cool... but oddly enough there was a lifetime movie on with a lady giving birth... John and I we're dying and wanted to laugh to hard.

Mom finally arrived and as we were just hanging out and we helped unpack the groceries. I then signalled John to go out to the car and get the "drill".

We sat Mom and Dad on the couch and told them we just had a little gift that we wanted to give to them.. the first thing out of my dad's mouth was... "Take it back and save your money!". We found that funny and many levels!

Needless to say they were in shock... as we all were, but as the reality set in, so did the excitement, smiles and the joy of welcoming their first Grand Baby!

Here's to bringing in a baby that will be spoiled and loved to the max!
